Still using Word 2011 and holding off from upgrading to Mojave?
I am curious if other writers have encountered these limitations with Track Changes/Review in Word 2016, and if so, how have you coped? So this posting is really just a rant to express my frustration. My experience with this company is they are experts at taking something that works fine and making it worse. I dont expect Microsoft to change or improve the Track Change features. I am loath to keep from upgrading my macOS for security and other reasons,Īnd eventually other software that I rely on will require me to upgrade my OS. Now that Mojave no longer allows Word 2011 to be run (I tried, it will not launch), I am forced to either get used to the crippled aspect of 2016, or refrain from upgrading to Mojave. Word 2016 removed colored bubbles which helped in itentifying comments, removed the ability to clickĪn 'x' to delete a comment, remove the ability to assign certain functions to the keyboard, etc) I have been using Word 2011 for Mac because the TrackChanges/Review features seem to me to much easier/better implemented in Word 2011 than in Word 2016. (Yes, stating my bias up front: I resent having to install this bloated software that is prone to unexplained crashing and spews its unwanted fonts into my I am forced to use Microsoft Word in order to work with my editor using the Track Changes features.
